Musician and visual artist, Jim Pigsley has founded and maintained a wide variety of outlets for his musical creations ranging from rapid-fire drum assaults to lush orchestral soundscapes - and everything in-between. He founded Mystic Chota Music twenty-one years ago, and the label has become the permanent home for over 15 acts.
Past and current projects explore the outer-reaches of sound and lyrical experimentation, yet always remain tethered to a strong melodic sensibility. While drumming is his original passion, Jim has also been composing with synths and keyboards since first experimenting with his family's upright player piano and learning mallet instruments at a young age.
Current projects include a solo rock venture (Bank Robbery Practice), an electronic collaboration (Kung Foo Mummy), and an appearance on the forthcoming juggernaut album (PLD : Smokes the World). Jim is also a founding member of profanity-peddlers, Die Opa Von Schmerzen, and has appeared in these and many more bands (Blue Foot Fool, E.S.P., Mind Like A Child, Leg, Ulothrix, Plopda, Jonny Applesemen, The Not-Funny-Diahrrea Club, The Greymen, Ringfinger, Evil Cowboy Hat, Star City Twelve, PBR Streetgang, and others).
